Just a touch of color

Remember the blue-gray primer in the den and bedroom?

Well, the guys were busy Saturday, and there's one coat of the final color on those walls today.

It's a little different from blue-gray.

reading this beautiful blog is a lesson in how it's done well. tis beautiful. tis breathtaking. tis infinitely wise. like the blog man himself. been wanting to get here for days and days. took til this afternoon to get here. when is move in? i remember the drumbeat of the painters coming, being there, going. then the work of moving back in began. and in a minute, oh i was home. and just like labor, i forgot instantly how much it had hurt.....i was home; felt like it had been waiting for me for forever....p.s. ou must be so proud of the 364 posts in 2006. i can now fully appreciate the power of each of those posts, and the cumulative effect. xoxox bam

you are too kind, dear bam.

the move-in is ... well, please note we don't have floors yet. nor an AC system. nor toilets (sinks should be in this week, with the granite). nor doors (ditto this week). nor really any plumbing beyond a garden hose, nor any electricity besides a drop cord, nor a finished pool....

aw, hell. late february?

as for labor, my contractions are now in their 11th month.

and some days just test my sunny good nature -- until i read kind words like yours and smile.

bam is so right.....it seems so incredibly daunting at times - creating something out of a process that is so imperfect, so influenced by things out of your control, so many people, each with their own sense of what is right. but you do forget all of that, once the journey is done. it becomes something that has so much meaning to you.
you'll see. what seems like folks testing your judgement is simply noise and that you were so smart to simply listen to YOUR voice on this journey
