Mix and match

The most beautiful bougainvillea hedge I ever saw was at Mrs. Goodwin's Silver Sands Lodge, near Malindi on the Indian Ocean. My second favorite is just up the street on Petronia.

Whoever planted the hedge couldn't decide among orange, magenta and purple -- and in the immortal spirit of Phyllis Diller, "When you can't decide which color to wear, wear 'em all!"

ah yes Malindi. the beautiful bougainvillea at Silver Sands Lodge and the soap stealing, wall climbing, light fixture living sand crabs at Che Challe. I still remember sitting on the beach at the Che while the wind blown sand drifted over me like a piece of dried driftwood. Mrs. Goodwin was like a god to us when we found her and that beautiful Lodge.
