One step closer: Chris' concrete finisher has little English as a language, but a lot of english on the trowel.

He'd gotten all the rainwater out -- and it was up to the bottom of the steps, quite tempting to the Macon crew -- so he could put in the band where the decorative tiles will go.

As usual, it was fascinating to see how meticulous he was: Smooth a bit, check the level, smooth, check, smooth, check. . . .

He's a concrete finisher, sure. But he's also a sculptor.
